A celebrated plein-air painter, Asp creates small studies on location, then recreates and enlarges the work at home. For her, receiving inspiration involves the sensory experience of being in nature, which is something a photograph cannot provide. Her paintings depict sweeping views of Northern California vineyards, Mount Diablo and other local scenes.
